Who is Brad Frederick?
With a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kansas and big corporation experience under his belt, Brad Frederick founded Media Genesis in 1996. Brad has 26 years of IT consulting and development experience with an emphasis in software and Internet application development.
Brad consults with start-ups and established firms on domain name acquisition and development. Brad started registering domain names when they were free (yep, there was a time they didn’t charge anything to register a domain name). Brad also serves on a number of boards for nonprofit organizations and for-profit companies, and in 2001, Brad was selected to Crain’s Detroit Business “40 under 40.”
Prior to founding Media Genesis, Brad worked for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) from 1985 to 1996. His development and management assignments included:
- Programming and testing CAD/CAM applications using a structured systems life cycle approach.
- Developing and teaching 2D and 3D engineering graphics courses to automotive design engineers.
- Managing Customer Assistance Center technical analysts in Michigan and Texas, providing worldwide 24×7 support of Engineering Manufacturing Graphics Systems.
- Independent consulting projects performing business process re-engineering assessments, recommendations and implementation plans for General Electric (World Headquarters) and Enron Corporation (Houston, TX).
- Network Operations Manager to a team of client/server technical professionals serving customers in eight Michigan locations where services included general UNIX system administration and World Wide Web server configuration, deployment and administration.
- Program Manager in Internet & New Media Technology Services, where he provided program management for the initial development and ongoing support for General Motors’ corporate website and all of their divisional brand websites. Brad personally turned on the first GM website, www.gm.com. He was also the sole developer of an Internet application that allowed Saturn car owners to schedule service appointments with dealerships over the Internet.
Following Mr. Frederick’s 11 year employment with EDS he founded Media Genesis to provide Internet application development. The firm has grown to a 50+ person team providing a wide range of consulting, marketing and Internet development services.
