UNESCO supports new network for peace

As the popularity of social networks expands, communication throughout the world has become more viral and connected. Now, imagine if that communication was about peace.

The Power of Peace Network (PPN) is a recently launched Web site, www.ThePowerofPeaceNetwork.com, that hopes make this communication a reality. The site utilizes modern technology to share locally produced stories and media in pursuit of peace.

The Power of Peace Network Web site is supported by The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and acts as a portal for people to interact with peace-related issues in their local area and also learn about what other countries are facing.

The New MG Experience for 2010

So, we really wanted a website that kept pace with the state of the Internet today. today. However, realizing that a combination of osmosis and wishing was not going to get the job done, we decided to use actual hard work and thoughtful design.

That’s right, we built this site with the intention that it would grow to represent our work, interactions and employees. Plus, the process was fun.

Organizations undergoing redesigns recognize the importance of their online presence, and managing it has become a full-time career for many. What’s the advantage of rooting social media directly into your website, anyway? Shouldn’t it be enough to show up in Google search results?

One advantage is centralizing and confirming all sources of your company’s online presence. This recognition enforces an image of complete transparency. Users need to know if they can trust you. They want to see how you interact with the public. By placing links to Wordpress, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. on your site, you’re showing you’ve got nothing to hide.
