Noah at Central, A New Website to Serve, Engage, and Empower
Noah at Central is a Detroit-based nonprofit that has spent over 25 years walking alongside individuals experiencing homelessness, offering connection, compassion, and critical support services. Their motto, “Everyone Deserves a Community,” isn’t just a tagline—it drives their work every day through initiatives like the NOAH Community Center and the Bag Lunch program. When Noah’s leadership saw an opportunity to modernize their website, they partnered with Media Genesis to create a digital presence that could match the strength of their mission.
The Challenge
Noah at Central needed a website that could do more than just share information. Their existing site was visually outdated, difficult to navigate, and not optimized for mobile users. It lacked clear paths for action, whether that meant making a donation, signing up to volunteer, or accessing services. The information architecture made it hard for key audiences—donors, volunteers, and those seeking help—to find what they needed. For a mission-driven organization, these were missed opportunities to connect and serve.
The Approach
We led a full-service engagement, managing every phase of the project from discovery and design to development, launch, and post-launch support.
Phase 1: Discovery & Strategy
We began with a deep dive into user behaviors and organizational goals. Through audits and strategy sessions with the Noah team, we:
- Identified key audience groups and their goals
- Mapped critical user flows for finding services, donating, and volunteering
- Reimagined the site structure to better align with user need
Together, we restructured the site navigation, consolidating redundant pages and elevating high-priority sections like Partner, Volunteer, and Donate into the main menu.

Phase 2: UX/UI Design
We designed a clean, approachable website that visually communicates Noah’s mission of compassion and empowerment. Highlights included:
- A calming color palette and refreshed logo application
- Clear, compelling calls-to-action across every page
- Layouts that lead users naturally toward engagement
Close collaboration with the Noah team ensured the final design stayed true to their values and vision.
Phase 3: Development
Using WordPress, we built a fully responsive, accessible website that puts Noah’s content and users first. Features included:
• A custom theme tailored for easy updates by internal staff
• Seamless donation and newsletter sign-up integrations
• SEO-optimized pages and metadata
• Development focused on accessibility, including screen reader and keyboard support
Phase 4: Pre-Launch QA
Before going live, we conducted extensive testing across devices, browsers, and accessibility benchmarks. This included:
- Mobile responsiveness and load speed optimization
- SEO checks and social media preview settings
- A full 301 redirect plan to preserve SEO value from the previous site
Phase 5: Launch & Support
We launched on time and remained hands-on through the post-launch period. Our team provided training for Noah staff, monitored performance, and resolved any issues in real time.
The Outcome
The new Noah at Central website offers a welcoming, easy-to-navigate experience for every visitor. It:
- Clearly communicates their mission and programs
- Makes it easier to donate, volunteer, or find help
- Performs well on mobile devices and meets accessibility standards
- Gives internal staff the tools they need to keep content fresh and relevant

Why It Matters
For an organization built on human connection, a thoughtful digital presence is more than just a convenience—it’s a critical part of how they serve the community. By building a site that reflects the warmth, clarity, and impact of Noah at Central’s work, Media Genesis helped expand their reach and deepen their engagement.
