WordPress is a Content Management System (CMS) built in PHP that includes plugin architecture and an internal template system. Each template is referred to as a“theme.” While this CMS is typically associated with blogging, it has become a trusted CMS for professional websites as well, with more than 60 million websites currently in use worldwide. WordPress offers media galleries, forums, learning management systems, and online stores. Created in May of 2003, WordPress is currently on version 5.3.2. Users of WordPress versions 5.2 and above are recommended to run PHP version 7.3 or greater. AAA 1-B came to Media Genesis in search of a new website design that better represented their organization and had easy-to-use navigation. The AAA 1-B team was accustomed to using a WordPress content management system, so we built the new site on the same platform.
In order to maximize the usability and overall look and feel of the site, our developers created custom WordPress templates to bring AAA 1-B’s desired design and functionality to the forefront of each page. Media Genesis also implemented a donation setup, so users on the website could donate directly to AAA 1-B without having to navigate away from the site.
American House Foundation came to Media Genesis with a need for website maintenance, WordPress security, functionality, and front-end styling improvements throughout the site. In addition to monitoring website security, Media Genesis also worked within the WordPress site in order to add functionality to American House Foundation’s newsletter sign-up button (this then became a functioning, linked button) and fix mobile styling issues.
MG updated old Partner Agency logos and implemented redirects, so users were routed to the correct websites upon click. To ensure no necessary changes were left unmade, Media Genesis ran a final crawl report to search for any remaining site errors.
Media Genesis worked alongside Beauty Made in Italy in order to manage, update, and improve their themed WordPress website. Due to the nature of Beauty Made in Italy’s site, Media Genesis had to work within the constraints of their WordPress theme in order to make edits.
To help make the design more unique to Beauty Made in Italy, we added custom coding throughout the site, giving them the opportunity to expand as needed. A custom homepage design was also integrated into their theme template. Finally, we set up a blog on WordPress so Beauty Made in Italy could create posts about various industry-related topics and events.
Continuum Services approached Media Genesis with a request for a new website with improved functionality. At the time, their website was an HTML build, so Continuum Services did not have the ability to make edits without the assistance of an outside web developer.
Media Genesis created a new website using WordPress that included a new blog (merging articles from Continuum Service’s previous blog which had lived on an entirely separate website) as well as a Meet the Team page with employee headshots and biographies. Media Genesis also created a locations page, which organized all services by state so users could search for their ideal location by city and/or county.
Cranbrook Art Museum came to Media Genesis in need of a website redesign. Media Genesis built a robust, highly-customized WordPress site with a variety of plug-ins and features to meet Cranbrook’s growing needs. This gave Cranbrook the ability to successfully house thousands of assets (images and content) without slowing down their website. Image functionality was added to the homepage which draws photos from different exhibitions.
Media Genesis also added an e-commerce site to Cranbrook’s existing website, allowing users to purchase admission tickets, tour tickets, or even exhibition catalogs, and those purchase orders are then directed to the proper departments within the Cranbrook organization.
Lockwood Companies reached out to Media Genesis in order to design and develop a new website with updated functionality to meet their needs. After an initial analysis was conducted, it was determined that WordPress would be the ideal platform on which to build this new site.
Media Genesis created three custom templates for three separate Lockwood domains. We then implemented custom zip code and location search features, allowing users to search for Lockwood residential and senior living locations nearest them. Third-party plug-ins were also integrated throughout the Lockwood WordPress site in order to improve organic search and site security.
Michigan First Credit Union required additional functionality and overall editability on their website, so they came to Media Genesis for a website redesign.
MG optimized Michigan First’s WordPress website in order to provide full editing access and capabilities throughout. These changes included the creation of a new homepage using client-provided designs and a new Branch Locations page that was tied to IP addresses, so users can quickly locate the credit union branch closest to them without having to navigate away from the website. The new site was tested to ensure responsiveness; users can view and access the site on desktop, tablet, or smartphone.
Paulson’s came to Media Genesis requesting a new website that would better reflect their services in the field of custom electronics. After reviewing Paulson’s WordPress website design and functionality requirements, Media Genesis created a new Portfolios page, which enables Paulson’s to spotlight AV and home theater builds they’ve completed in the past.
Media Genesis also connected a 3rd-party product page in order to bring Paulson’s e-commerce offerings directly to their main company website. In order to further promote ease-of-use, Media Genesis also created a WordPress CMS user manual for the team at Paulson’s which outlined how to implement updates when necessary.
Media Genesis worked with the Detroit Public Lighting Authority (PLADetroit) in order to design and develop a new, user-friendly, and fully responsive WordPress website. By using the WordPress platform, PLA Detroit would be able to autonomously update their own site without the assistance of third-party developers.
Media Genesis created 16 variations of custom page templates, including a custom photo gallery integration. An assortment of third-party plugins, including those for Search Engine Optimization and website security, were also integrated in order to expand the functionality of the site and match the needs of PLA Detroit.
