From humble beginnings to digital acceleration, Media Genesis has been at the forefront of the digital transformation journey of the James H. Cole business, setting them apart in a traditional industry. This case study explores how we’ve cultivated a digital presence for James. H. Cole, enhancing their legacy and aligning them with the digital age.
Working with the Mayor, the Chief of Staff, and the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation (DECG), Media Genesis developed branding, collateral, and websites for the economic development projects Motor City Match and Motor City Connect. These successful projects received national media attention.
Media Genesis helped the Detroit Symphony Orchestra rebuild their website with improved eCommerce functionality using Tessitura. This included online purchasing and check-out processes. Users are able to buy subscriptions, tickets, merchandise, make donations, and more.
The Detroit Institute of Arts came to Media Genesis in need of promotional and print collateral. MG designed posters, invitation cards, and handouts for the “Night of Contemporary Art” event. MG also redesigned the registration and ticketing web page using a WordPress template.
Atwater Brewery wanted a better way to connect to their audience and came to Media Genesis in order to improve their website’s usability. Media Genesis designed, built, and programmed the Atwater website. We created an online store using a WooCommerce plugin where users can purchase Atwater merchandise.
The Public Lighting Authority of Detroit needed a new website with improved usability and functionality. Media Genesis worked with PLA to design a site that residents can use to report power outages, find power restoration maps, and more. The website was built to be mobile responsive and included custom photograph and videography.
The Wayne County Department of Health, Veterans and Community Wellness needed help creating a mobile app that could be used to educate community members on public safety. From wireframes to user flows and navigation edits, Media Genesis developed an easy-to-use app compatible with Android and iOS.
The Detroit Symphony Orchestra wanted an online location to display past and future performances for digital distribution in order to build its global audience. Media Genesis created a custom .NET content management system (CMS) with enhanced calendar functionality, full-width imagery, and a new, cutting-edge design.
Detroit Future City came to Media Genesis in need of a re-invigorated website and new branding materials. MG reviewed DFC’s brand standards and initiated a redesign with an improved user flow to make it easier for users to find the information they’re looking for. We also designed marketing collateral, such as postcards and pamphlets.
Focus: HOPE came to Media Genesis for a better way to manage the content on their website. Media Genesis developed in-depth strategies for content and design improvements. New website features included the integration of an eCommerce merchant account, events calendar, and the division of services in the navigation.
The Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan (GSSEM) came to Media Genesis in need of website improvements. Media Genesis implemented a content management system (CMS) and created webforms for volunteer sign-up, donations, and more. To improve brand awareness, we implemented blog functionality and social media channels on the website.
The Greater Detroit Area Health Council (GDAHC) came to Media Genesis seeking a tool that patients can use to search for doctors and health care services in Metro Detroit, Michigan. Media Genesis helped create the Find MI Care website and implement branding on its paired mobile application. Since its launch, the site has grown from 30 to 300 participating clinics.
The Detroit Economic Growth Corporation (DEGC) reached out to Media Genesis in order to create a branded web presence and refine their marketing strategy. Media Genesis designed and created a custom logo and print collateral, including business cards, postcards, brochures, posters, window decals, and more. MG also incorporated custom icons into the site design.
The International Visitors Council (IVC) of Metropolitan Detroit needed a new website to act as a communication tool for their new “Global Ties Detroit” name. Media Genesis helped IVC transition into their new branding by organizing templates and content, updating social media channels, and facilitating the evaluation of presentations, letterhead, and business cards.
Data Driven Detroit (D3) needed help improving their branding efforts and website management. Media Genesis designed new marketing collateral, including business cards, templates, and letterhead. MG implemented a new content management system (CMS) and functionality which allowed users to search, filter, and view multimedia content for several hundred thousand Detroit properties.
The McGregor Fund needed a new website to improve usability and spread the word about the organization’s initiatives. Media Genesis designed and developed a new website for The McGregor Fund and provided additional maintenance and upkeep after launch.
Media Genesis partnered with Pawn Detroit to make improvements to their already-existing website and expand branding and brand recognition throughout the Detroit, Michigan community. The new website focused heavily on e-commerce functionality. MG also helped design and produce print collateral such as t-shirts and business cards.
Secure Beginnings, a manufacturer of infant cribs, hired Media Genesis to assist them in creating a Shark Tank submission video to showcase their product. With a three-day turnaround to plan, film, edit, and deliver, MG was able to produce a video that garnered Secure Beginnings a lot of social media attention.
Media Genesis created landing pages and marketing materials for the Citizens Bank “Call It Home” initiative and new loan program. MG developed custom graphics and built HTML web pages along with Michigan-themed flyers and other print collateral. In addition, MG developed and implemented SEO strategy to expand customer awareness.
Media Genesis assisted the Detroit Regional Chamber in implementing a custom Content Management System (CMS) for their website. This new CMS allowed the DRC to make changes to the site as needed (without requiring the assistance of an outside developer). Media Genesis also redesigned the Detroit Regional Chamber and Detroit Online websites.
City Connect Detroit came to Media Genesis in need of a website Content Management System (CMS) to help organize their content and make editing the website possible and simple for their internal team. MG designed and developed an all new website using the WordPress CMS, which features a dynamic calendar, event registration, e-commerce, and more.
The Detroit Regional Workforce Fund (DRWF) needed a new, modern website with improved functionality and design. Together, Media Genesis and DRWF created an updated design with fresh colors and new functionality such as a rotating banner to display partners. MG also helped with improve information architecture by rearranging and developing new pages for content.
Media Genesis was responsible for redesigning and developing the Foreclosure Detroit website to improve user experience and functionality. The website needed to be accessible to audiences with varying levels of technological experience, and was designed in a manner to fit these needs. MG also designed and secured billboard advertising on behalf of Foreclosure Detroit.
Greening of Detroit wanted to expand their brand recognition and community awareness through a marketing campaign. Media Genesis developed designs for t-shirts, e-newsletters, and strengthened the design of the website overall to emphasize branding and improve user flow. MG also improved the donation functionality and process on the website.
Ruth Ellis Center wanted a new Content Management System (CMS) for their website that could be easily managed in-house. Media Genesis transferred their website content to a WordPress CMS. In addition, MG designed and developed a donation thermometer to visualize funding goals and progress. MG also added a photo gallery that admins could easily edit.
In need of a website that was immigrant-friendly with clear navigation and user flow, Media Genesis assisted the Office of Immigrant Affairs to build a site that included a repository of regularly used resources. MG also incorporated an online rating service to encourage community participation.
Media Genesis worked with VernDale Products Inc. to develop an illustrated infographic for their website homepage that demonstrated the process “from cow to milk chocolate.” MG also designed three new logo options and website designs to help VernDale with their rebranding initiatives.
Rock Companies was seeking a new corporate website that would highlight each aspect of their business, including the properties and the three companies under its umbrella. Media Genesis designed a new site to aesthetically represent each location with information about all three.
